Tragedy at The Bend: Motorsport Community Mourns the Loss of Shane Mann

The motorsport community is in mourning following a tragic incident at The Bend Motorsport Park during the 2025 AirTouch 500 event in South Australia.
Motorsport Australia confirmed that a critical medical incident occurred in the paddock on Saturday. It was later reported that Shane Mann, 50, a much-loved competitor in the Aussie Racing Cars Championship, passed away despite the best efforts of medical teams on site
🏁 Event Impact
Aussie Racing Cars Race 2 was cancelled out of respect for Shane and his family.
Trans Am Series racing was delayed while officials and first responders managed the situation.
Today, a moving tribute was held at The Bend, with Shane’s #21 car leading a formation lap and the front row left empty in his honor

“Motorsport Australia advises that a critical medical incident has occurred in the paddock at the running of the 2025 AirTouch 500 at The Bend, South Australia.
