SAFETY & vEHICLE sTANDARDS FOR bURNOUT cOMPETITIONS

We here at Off The Street Australia take Safety very seriously when it comes to Extreme Motorsport.

 

Our goal is to get the so called "Hoons" Off The Street and on to the Pad in a Safe and Controlled Environment where 1,000's can watch and be entertained!

 

MIMINUM SAFETY
Secured Fire Extinguisher (Minimum 1KG Dry Powder)
Helmets must be marked to show that they comply with the relevant Australian Standard
NO SKULL CAPS (AASA ONLY)
No Loose Items in Vehicle
Front Windscreen to be Cleaned of Past Competition Numbers

 

ENGINE BAY
Battery Secured with Proper Mounting Parts
All Fitting Secured
No Fuel, Oil or Brake Fluid Leaks
Catch Can if fitted, is away from Headers
Water Overflow / Catch Bottle Minimum 1 Litre
All Ancillary Belts Covered (If No Bonnet Fitted)
If Running Mechanic Fan, Must Run Bonnet or Have a Guard Installed
Blown Cars to have Blower Guard
Mechanical Throttle Bodies - Secondary Accelerator Springs Fitted
Firewall Sealed from Engine Bay
Brake and Fuel Lines Safe Distance from Exhaust and Wheels

 

DRIVELINE
Driven Wheels Rolled Steel or Aluminium (NO CAST ALLOYS)
No Wheel Weights on Driven Wheels
Tailshaft Loop Fitted (to be made of steel) immediately behind gearbox
Neutral Safety Switch to be Fitted and in Working Condition


BODY
Headlight is Working Order (For Night Time Events)
Doors in Working Order
Seatbelts in Working Order
Modified Seats and Harnesses to be Mounted Correctly
Fuel Compartment Sealed from Burnt Tyre Rubber
If Structural Damage is Present near Fuel Tank you will Need a Reinforced Protective Plate or Fuel Cell Installed
Structural Rust is Not Acceptable 
Structural Modifications (If Any, Approved by Competent Person)
If No Bonnet and Inner Guards (Hotrod Set Up)
All Moving Parts need to be Protected


METHANOL
(Following Applies for vehicles running Methanol)
Letter "M" on Front and Rear Windows
Drivers and Passengers to wear Fire Suit rated to SFI 3.2


N20 FITTED (NOS)
(Following Applies for Vehicles Running N20)
Yellow Sticker with Black Letters on Front and Rear Windows
Rear Parcel Shelves and fire wall holes plugged
Pressure relief burst disc and down tube system or safe pressure relief valve fitted
